Jesus yearns to be close to you.

After waking up from a good sleep or from a nightmare, Jesus is by your bed-side asking what you dreamed about. Going to school or heading for work, Jesus is on the passenger side of your car asking what your plans are for the day. After cooking dinner or having a good meal, Jesus wants to help you choose a filter for your Instagram picture. While browsing the internet for news feeds, Jesus is close by asking what’s new. When your head is aching from a terrible migraine, Jesus is quietly telling you to take a quick nap. When your heart is broken, Jesus is patting your back telling you to hold on a little longer. When your tears are flowing from your face, Jesus is ready with a towel to wipe them away from your face. For the good times and the bad, Jesus wants to hold your hand.

Jesus is there. He is not going anywhere. From the mighty, kingly, and priestly disposition, Jesus humbles himself to be closer to all of us. No matter how many times we turn our backs on Him, no matter how many times we forget Him, no matter how many times we choose to ignore Him, no matter how many times we think religion is useless… Jesus will always be there, wanting for a personal relationship with you.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” – Revelation 3: 20, ESV

As the scripture says, Jesus stands at the door of our hearts and knocks. All you need to do is reach back out to Him. Answer back to His call, acknowledge His presence in your life, and pray to Him. To eat with Him is to be fulfilled, not with the stomach but with the heart. Let Jesus enter your life and He will fill you with spiritual strength and high spirits.

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day.” – Psalm 91 : 1-16, ESV

Jesus wants you to dwell in His shelter, because He wants to protect you. Like an eagle caring for its little ones, He wants to lift you from your troubles, and protect you under His wings. All you need to do is have faith. Your faith will serve as your shield and buckler. It will strip you bare from all paralyzing fears.

“So that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.” – Acts 17:27, ESV

We do not see Jesus physically, but the things that matter most are the ones felt with the heart and can be felt instantly because they are within our reach — like air, love, happiness, and oxygen. Like Jesus.

Let us pray :

Lord God, many times I have forgotten about you, failed you, and ignored you. Many times I have gone astray and separated myself from You. I thank you for sending Jesus to save me from my sins and die in my place. My heart is filled with gratitude from His unending grace. I now accept Jesus openly in my life. I invite Him into my heart. To forgive me. To protect me. To accept me. To bring me to everlasting life. I put all my faith in Him and praise Him today and always.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
